Does He Love Me? 5 Psychic Signs Someone Has Feelings for You

“Does he love me?” For those of us who work in the intuitive and psychic world, this may be one of the most familiar questions we hear. Does she still have feelings for me? Does he think about me? Is this connection still there? Will we find our way back to one another?
After witnessing countless love stories through Tarot cards, psychic readings, energy work, mediumship, and spiritual guidance, we’ve learned that underneath “Does this person love me?” there is often another question: Does this person want to be with me and ultimately, will we be together?
Those are not always the same question.
Someone can love you deeply and still not be ready to choose a life with you. Someone can miss you and still not reach out. Someone can feel an incredibly powerful energetic or soul connection with you and still be unable to meet you in the physical relationship you desire. Before we get there, though, let’s talk about the magic. Because sometimes you do know. Sometimes Spirit whispers. Sometimes the Universe repeats itself until you finally listen. Sometimes a song arrives at exactly the right moment, a symbol follows you for days, or someone reaches out just as you were holding their photograph in your hands. And sometimes a connection seems to exist somewhere beyond the physical relationship itself.
Can You Psychically Feel When Someone Loves You?
We believe you can.
Love has an energy, and during an intuitive reading, feelings between two people can reveal themselves in countless ways. Sometimes they come through Tarot or oracle cards. Sometimes a reader experiences the emotion physically in their own body. Sometimes a sentence arrives clearly through clairaudience, or an image suddenly appears in the mind. And at times Spirit gets wonderfully specific.
A spiritual guide may suddenly see flowers and discover that this person used to bring you flowers. They may see someone cooking and hear that preparing food was one of the ways your person expressed love. A butterfly may appear in a vision, only for you to explain that the two of you once spent an afternoon surrounded by butterflies at a botanical garden. A hummingbird may come through, and suddenly you say, “He calls me his little hummingbird.”
These moments can feel impossible to manufacture because they belong to the private language of the connection. Love leaves energetic fingerprints, and sometimes intuition allows us to see them. Outside of a psychic reading, those fingerprints can appear in your own life too.
1. You Ask Spirit for a Sign—and Receive It
One of the clearest ways to work with signs is simply to ask. Ask God, your angels, your Spirit Guides, your Higher Self, the Universe, the Divine...whatever name you give to the loving intelligence you feel guiding your life.
And be specific.
Perhaps you say, “If this connection is still active and meaningful, show me a rainbow anywhere, anyhow, within the next 24 hours.” Then release it. Don't spend the next day searching for rainbows or trying to manufacture the answer. Go live your life.
And if twelve hours later you're standing somewhere completely ordinary and suddenly notice a rainbow in a place you never expected to see one, pause. You asked. Something answered. You don't necessarily need to immediately ask for five more confirmations. When we intentionally ask for a highly specific sign and it arrives within the container we've created, we believe that is something worth holding with respect and reverence.
Now, this doesn't mean the sign has promised you exactly how the future will unfold. Other people still have free will, circumstances still change, and life continues moving. But we can honor the message without demanding that it become a contract.
2. A Song, Dream or Message Finds You
Some signs aren't requested. They simply arrive.
Maybe you go to sleep thinking about someone and wake up with a particular song playing loudly in your mind. Perhaps you dream about someone you haven't spoken to in months, but the dream feels different from an ordinary dream. It is vivid, alive, almost like an encounter. Their name may suddenly appear somewhere unexpected, or a memory enters your consciousness seemingly out of nowhere. In some instances there is a feeling of recognition that accompanies these experiences. Not necessarily excitement or a frantic “This means they're coming back!”
Even when you're going through something emotionally difficult, intuitive guidance can sometimes bring a moment of ease within the uncertainty. There is a silver-lining feeling to it, an internal sense of Oh. I hear you.
Pay attention to that feeling as much as you pay attention to the sign itself.
3. The Timing Feels Too Beautiful to Ignore
You're reading through old messages and your phone suddenly lights up. It's them.
You randomly think, I wonder how they're doing, and moments later they contact you. You hear your song at precisely the moment you've been asking yourself whether the connection is still alive. These are the moments when time itself seems to wink at us.
Synchronicity doesn't always arrive with an explanation or a logical pathway. Most times it creates a moment where the inner and outer worlds seem to meet. You don't always have to dissect it or immediately decide exactly what it predicts.
You can notice it. You can smile. You can whisper thank you.
4. A Personal Symbol Keeps Appearing
The most meaningful signs aren't necessarily the ones you'll find on a list online. They're often the ones that belong specifically to you. Butterflies, hummingbirds, cats, a particular flower, a number, a phrase, a certain place. Symbols become especially powerful when they already carry meaning within the connection.
Perhaps hummingbirds have always represented this person because of something they once said to you. Then you ask for guidance about the relationship and suddenly hummingbirds begin appearing everywhere. That carries a different quality than Googling “Does seeing a hummingbird mean my ex is thinking about me?” and deciding afterward that every hummingbird must be about them.
Your spiritual language is personal. Spirit often works through symbols you already understand, and this is one of the beautiful things about developing a relationship with your own intuition. Over time, you begin recognizing your language with the Divine.
5. The Universe Keeps Repeating Itself
The majority of times, Spirit whispers. Yet, at times Spirit knocks on the door, loud and clear.
The same number appears. Then the same animal. Then the same message. A particular theme emerges in a reading, then meditation, then an unexpected conversation. A song appears, followed by a dream, followed by the symbol again.
When divine guidance wants our attention, sometimes the message continues appearing until we finally stop and acknowledge it. Repetition can give a sign greater weight, but repetition isn't always necessary.
If you explicitly asked, “Show me a rainbow within 24 hours if XYZ is true,” and a rainbow appears within that time, you don't necessarily need six more rainbows. There was already a clear intention behind the request.
The beautiful part of working with signs is learning when to ask and most importantly, learning how to listen.
But Are You Listening to the Signs You Don't Want?
This may be one of the harder parts of spiritual discernment. We can become very good at noticing signs that confirm what we desperately want to be true. The butterfly means reunion. The angel number means they're thinking about us. The love song means they're coming back.
But what happens when the message isn't the one we wanted?
Quite often we too, have a persistent intuitive feeling that something isn't right. Sometimes Spirit keeps showing us themes of release. During seasons, every reading seems to redirect our attention toward ourselves. We may be asking, “Are they coming back?” while the Universe seems to keep answering, “Come back to yourself.”
And we tend to ignore it.
We ask again. We reinterpret the message. We negotiate with it. We decide the beautiful signs are divine guidance while the uncomfortable ones must mean something else. But spiritual guidance isn't here simply to agree with us.
There are moments, when the sign isn't telling you something about them at all. Perhaps the butterfly isn't promising someone's return; perhaps you are the one transforming. Perhaps the repeated number isn't telling you to wait; perhaps it's asking you to trust the new chapter you're now entering.
Receiving signs requires openness. Receiving guidance requires the willingness to hear something we weren't expecting.
Okay... But What If They Really Do Love You?
They might.
Many times the answer really is: Yes. This person truly and deeply loves you.
Maybe they miss you. Maybe they think about you. Maybe this connection affected them profoundly. Maybe you've known one another before this lifetime. Maybe there is something karmic between you. Maybe your souls recognized one another immediately. Maybe the relationship activated something within both of you that neither of you can quite explain.
And still, love and partnership are not the same thing.
Someone can love you and be terrified of commitment. Someone can love you and believe they aren't financially or emotionally ready to build a life with another person. Someone can love you but not want marriage. Someone can love you while remaining attached to another relationship they're unwilling to leave.
Someone can love you while carrying wounds they haven't begun to understand, much less heal. Someone can love you and not be in love with you romantically. Someone may even feel something so intense that they don't fully understand why they keep pulling away from it. There are a million reasons someone can love another person and still not choose a relationship with them.
And perhaps that's why “Does he love me?” can only take us so far.
The next question becomes:
Can this person meet me where I need them to?
Love Is a Feeling. A Relationship Requires Participation.
If someone loves you, it counts, and it's a wave that you will most likely be able to feel energetically in your own frequency. We're not going to diminish it or tell you the connection wasn't real simply because it didn't become what you hoped it would become.
Some of the deepest connections of our lives may not be the ones we spend our lives with. Some people arrive to awaken us. Some mirror us. Some walk beside us for decades. Some seem to recognize us from somewhere we cannot name. Some may return, and some may not.
But if what you desire is a relationship, eventually there has to be movement in the physical world too.
That doesn't necessarily mean today, and it doesn't necessarily mean on your preferred timeline. There is nothing wrong with allowing something to unfold slowly if that genuinely feels good to you. But if you desire partnership, consistency, marriage, emotional availability, communication, or a shared life, your desires belong in the equation too.
Maybe they love you. But are they capable of showing up for you in a way that supports your emotional wellbeing?
Be Open to Everything and Attached to Nothing
This may be one of the most loving ways to hold a spiritual connection.
You don't have to deny it. You don't have to convince yourself that you imagined everything. You don't have to throw away every sign, reading, dream, synchronicity, past-life recognition, or moment of intuitive knowing simply because the relationship isn't happening right now.
But you also don't have to stop your life.
Be open to everything and attached to nothing.
Maybe they return. Maybe circumstances change. Maybe they heal. Maybe you find your way back to one another.
And maybe while you're busy living, you change. Maybe someone else enters your life. Maybe what once felt like the only possible ending becomes one beautiful possibility among many. Spiritual guidance should expand your world. It should never make your world smaller.
No psychic reading, sign, past-life connection, Tarot card, synchronicity, or message from Spirit should require you to give away your agency. You can honor the connection without surrendering your life to it.
If You Know They Love You, But They Still Aren't Choosing You...
We know how painful that can be.
And we're not going to reduce something this complicated to “If they wanted to, they would.” Human beings are more complicated than that. Fear is real. Trauma is real. Timing is real. Circumstances are real. Confusion is real.
And yes, love can be real too.
But so is your pain.
If this connection is bringing you more anguish than joy, if you're beginning to question your worth, or if you're constantly waiting for the next message, sign, reading, or energetic shift, perhaps the question doesn't need to be whether they love you anymore.
Perhaps you already know that answer.
Sometimes, even when someone loves us deeply, they are simply not ready to meet us where we need them to. And that's when we need to step in and meet ourselves with love and compassion.
A Little Heart Check-In
Take a quiet moment and ask yourself:
If I knew without question that this person loved me, what would I need to know next?
Am I waiting for love? Or am I waiting for someone to become ready to receive and reciprocate it?
What are this person's actions showing me right now?
What kind of relationship am I actually asking the Universe to bring into my life?
Can I honor this connection without putting my life on hold for it?
Where have I given this person power that belongs back in my own hands?
And perhaps the most important question of all:
Can this connection love me in the way I am ready to be loved?
You are allowed to believe in the signs, honor the synchronicities, trust the messages that come through your intuition, and believe that some souls recognize one another across lifetimes.
You are also allowed to keep living.
You can believe the love is real without making it responsible for your future. You can honor what Spirit has shown you while remaining open to what Spirit may show you next. And you can love someone deeply while still meeting yourself with enough love and compassion to recognize when you need more.
Frequently asked questions
- Can you psychically feel when someone is thinking about you?
- Yes, many people experience intuitive moments that seem connected to another person, such as vivid dreams, unexpected songs or memories, meaningful synchronicities, or thinking of someone just before they contact you. Personal symbols and repeated signs can feel especially significant when they arrive unexpectedly or after you’ve specifically asked Spirit for guidance.
- What are signs from the Universe that someone may have feelings for you?
- Signs may appear through synchronicities, dreams, angel numbers, songs, repeated symbols, uncanny timing, or a specific sign you’ve intentionally asked the Universe to send. Sometimes the same message will repeat until you pay attention; other times, one highly specific sign received after a clear request can be meaningful enough to hold with respect and reverence.
- Can someone love you deeply and still not choose you?
- Absolutely. Someone can genuinely love you while struggling with commitment, timing, emotional availability, another relationship, unhealed wounds, or simply wanting a different kind of life. Love can be real even when a relationship isn't possible. The deeper question may become not only “Do they love me?” but “Can they meet me where I need them to?”
